Our Approach to Treatment
The road to substance abuse recovery can be different for every individual. Family history, support networks, the intensity of the addiction – these elements and more combine to make each person’s experience unique. To meet these needs, Talbott Recovery’s two locations offer an array of services and treatment options to help our patients escape addiction and move forward in recovery.
Group therapy is the cornerstone of all of our substance abuse recovery programs, but those groups are paired with a wide range of other therapeutic techniques.
Individual therapy, procedural learning, psychoeducation groups, relapse prevention, life skills, family therapy and spirituality groups also play an important role in the treatment process. Then there are topical groups focused on addressing trauma, anger, grief, sexual issues, gender issues, and more. They all work together to create a comprehensive treatment experience.

Levels of Care
As someone moves through treatment, the program changes as they make progress. Each level of care addresses the needs of our patients during different stages in their recovery. Talbott Recovery incorporates varied treatment levels into each individual’s program plan to ensure the best chance of achieving and maintaining successful recovery.
Detoxification and Stabilization
Once you or a loved one have made the decision to seek help for substance or alcohol abuse, a treatment program may not be your first stop. Some patients begin their recovery journey by going through detox to stabilize physically in order to prepare to begin treatment.
Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)
Our PHP with Recovery Residences provides intensive treatment programming paired with off-site housing where participants live in community together. During this phase of treatment, patients gain basic recovery skills and are introduced to various treatment methods.
Intensive Outpatient Programs
For those not in need of Partial Hospitalization, an Intensive Outpatient Program provides the structure of treatment with the flexibility of living at home. Participants get the help they need while maintaining a career or other responsibilities.
Treatment Components
Patient Assessments – To determine an individual’s specific needs, we evaluate their physical, psychiatric, psychological, social, spiritual and family needs. This information is used to recommend an appropriate level of care and develop a treatment plan.
Treatment Planning – The treatment team, led by the attending physician, develops an individualized treatment plan for each patient, meeting regularly to review progress and update treatment goals.
Co-occurring Disorders Treatment – Research reveals that a high percentage of those battling an alcohol or drug addiction are also struggling with a diagnosed or undiagnosed mental illness. From anxiety and depression to bipolar disorder, PTSD or trauma, these issues can contribute to substance abuse, making recovery less effective if they aren’t addressed at the same time.
Continuing Care – The Talbott Recovery continuing care process assists patients and families in developing a program of recovery and building a support system that will provide a solid foundation after they leave treatment.
