What to Expect
The Admissions Process
When you contact us, either by phone or online, you’ll be connected with an Intake Specialist who will begin to gather information to find out how we can best help you or your loved one.
Contacting an Intake Specialist – Calls originate from potential patients, family members, loved ones and even referring physicians. It’s not important who makes the call, it’s just important that someone calls. And when you do, we are here 24 hours a day, seven days a week to answer.
Assessing the Situation – What condition is the potential patient in? We know the questions to ask to help determine if treatment is needed and if additional services – like medically-managed detox – are necessary.
Accessing Your Records – Your Intake Specialist will gather all the required medical information and review your application with a Talbott Recovery physician. Once you have been cleared medically, admission can usually be arranged within 24 hours. If for any reason it is determined that our programs are not the right fit, your Intake Specialist can help you with referrals to other facilities.
Transferring from Another Facility – Sometimes it’s necessary to make a move. If you’re a patient transferring from another facility, medical records should be faxed to our Intake Office at (770) 997-8480. Based on information provided, a Talbott Recovery physician will review and approve your admission.
Approval of Patient Application & Finances – After you have received medical clearance, your Intake Specialist will help you determine insurance coverage and treatment costs, make the necessary financial arrangements.
Scheduling Admission – The last step is to schedule admission. Talbott Recovery admits patients Monday through Friday before noon. Patients requiring detoxification may be admitted to Anchor Hospital located on the Talbott Recovery Atlanta Campus, 24 hours a day. Talbott Recovery can provide transportation from Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport or from local hotels to the facility for admission.
We know there can be some anxiety about what happens next, and we are here to demystify the admissions process and provide answers to your questions.
