Psychiatrist | Main Campus
Hailing from Salisbury, Maryland, Dr. Constantine Galifianakis joined the Talbott Recovery staff as psychiatrist at the main campus in July 2017. Licensed in Georgia and Maryland, he completed his psychiatry internship at Emory University and a psychiatry fellowship at University of Maryland.
Prior to medical school, Dr. Galifianakis pursued an interest in film, working for a major Hollywood production company. His interest in the stories of individuals and communities in this business drew him to psychiatry, and he began volunteering in the Los Angeles County Hospital’s psychiatric emergency room. After two years in the film industry, he entered medical school at University of Maryland. He was selected for the competitive Combined Accelerated Psychiatric Program, which allowed him countless opportunities to explore the field of psychiatry. During medical school, Dr. Galifianakis was also elected into the Gold Humanism Honor Society, placing him at the top of his class for qualities of humanism and professionalism.
“This is a complex field with many challenges and rewarding experiences, but I would say that my favorite part of the job is having the privilege of helping patients achieve growth and balance, in the pursuit of a more fulfilling life,” Dr. Galifianakis says.
When not working, his diverse interests include film, music, travel, food, fitness, painting and design, basketball and baseball, especially when the Orioles are playing.
