About Mel Chafin
Melanie joined the staff at Talbott Recovery Columbus in 2013, working with nurses in recovery and the State Boards of Nursing to return nurses to practice safely. As a person in recovery herself, she understands the struggles nurses face after treatment. Melanie received her Bachelor’s in Nursing from Columbus State University in 2008 and worked as an emergency room nurse until 2012. She is currently working on her Master’s in Nursing-Nurse Practitioner at Walden University. Melanie is a member of GNA (Georgia Nurses Association) and ANA (American Nurses Association). She is a certified ACLS, BLS PALS and is a Nurse Advocate. In her free time, Melanie loves the outdoors and spending time with her 6 children and 2 grandchildren.
