Navjyot Singh Bedi, MD

Dr. Navjyot Singh Bedi, Staff Addiction Psychiatrist at Talbott Recovery, trained in a medical sciences psychiatry residency in India. He completed a second psychiatry residency in the U.S. where he was chief resident, making him a valuable part of the treatment team in Talbott’s addiction and co-occurring psychiatric disorders treatment program. After completing residency he served as the medical director at Cherokee Mental Health Institute in Iowa over general psychiatry and completed his fellowship.

Additionally, Dr. Bedi completed psychoanalytic training at the Philadelphia Psychoanalytic Institute and a fellowship of addiction psychiatry at Northwestern. He has multiple certifications including one in psychiatry and addiction psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN), and one in addiction medicine by the American Board of Preventive Medicine (ABPM). He is also a HIMS qualified psychiatrist.

In 2006, Dr. Bedi joined the Talbott Recovery team as a staff addiction psychiatrist. Throughout his time at Talbott, he has and continues to conduct our professional assessments, lead process groups, and is a frequent lecturer to both patients and families. He also manages all the treatment teams in our Professionals Program and assists at the Skyline Program by evaluating pilots for treatment and endorsing their recommendations to return to work.

Finally, he has been invited to speak internationally on topics such as the disease of addiction, treatment for pilots, and pilot mental health. When not at Talbott, Dr. Bedi is a clinical assistant professor of psychiatry and behavioral sciences at Emory University School of Medicine and enjoys traveling.
